What Really Hurts Scorpio the Most?

Scorpio stands out as the most intense zodiac sign. Yep, I said it. Now that I’ve said that…

Scorpios have a reputation, and they totally earned it. But, I’ll vouch for their somewhat wild image. Scorpios aren’t “crazy,” they’re just super-sensitive, really emotional, and express their feelings a lot.

These traits are typical of water signs. Cancer and Pisces, like Scorpio, are also quite sensitive and deeply affected by emotions. The way they handle those emotions, though, varies a bunch.

In a relationship, a Cancer will take an offense by keeping it inside, giving a nod and a smile, and then nursing a grudge forever. A Pisces will also take an offense badly, but they’ll talk to you extensively about how you hurt them because they want you to make things right.

Now, a Scorpio? They’ll react to the same offense — when hurt, a Scorpio might cry, sob, and seek a shoulder to lean on. But, they might also take you aside, vent their feelings, and ask you to make amends, maybe in a more intense way.

Haha, that cracked me up. Seriously though, I found out (did a bit of research when I had some free time) that a surprising amount of serial killers happen to be Scorpios. Among female serial killers, half of them fall under the Scorpio sign. That’s considering there are 12 zodiac signs, so it’s like 50 to 60 percent.

Take it however you want. But here’s more info about Scorpios in relationships.

1. When Scorpios feel hurt, they might react strongly.

At times, Scorpios sense a potential issue even if it’s not there. They can get insecure, thinking they are disliked or unappreciated, and react by stinging first. The Scorpio sting is like their shield.

If your Scorpio acts snappy or unkind (which happens), try to understand the real reason behind it. It could be something you did or said, or they might be going through a tough time, using you as a safe place to release their feelings.

It’s not okay, but if you handle it right, you can make things better.

2. Don’t contradict a Scorpio.

Just don’t. Well, maybe. If you feel the urge, go ahead – just make sure your Scorpio isn’t one of those serial killers I mentioned before.

Sometimes Scorpios might say things that are a bit off. They’re really passionate and dedicated folks, so when they get worked up about an idea, they dive all in.

Then the stubborn part kicks in. If you challenge this newfound passion and tell them they’re wrong, get ready for a reaction. “What did you say? Yeah, but why did you say it? Yeah, but why did you say it like that? Why did you need to come across like that?” The questions keep coming.

However, if you care about this Scorpio and notice they’ve veered off into an odd direction, gently guide them back with a, “Are you sure?” Or even better, “Can you show me where you found this so I can check it out?” Or try, “I thought it was something else, but if you say so, maybe I was wrong.”

That last one usually makes them pause. Getting the benefit of the doubt, receiving your trust and respect – that tends to slow them down. But if you respond with snarky disagreement or a holier-than-thou attitude? Be prepared for a reaction.

Once, a guy insisted “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” was by The Bangles. He mocked my 80s knowledge when I corrected him, insisting it was Cyndi Lauper. Instead of proving myself, I just said, “You’re right, honey. You’re always right.” He checked it himself and admitted I was correct.

I caught on quickly, folks. This same guy dismissed my comments about The Patriots holding the longest winning streak in the NFL and Mohegan Sun being the biggest casino in the world at that time – things a New England girl would likely know. Nope. Laughed it off, claiming I didn’t know what I was talking about “as per usual.” I looked up the facts on Google, showed him I was right, and he called me petty. We broke up soon after, I can assure you.

3. Scorpio can be pretty promiscuous.

Sure, here’s a rewritten version following the guidelines:

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. I’m an Aries with a rising sign in Cancer. When I really like someone, I want to be close (Aries) and also enjoy cozy moments, like making pumpkin whoopie pies (Cancer). So, Scorpios aren’t the only ones who enjoy intimate connections.

But Scorpios take it to the next level.

They’re led by their physical desires. In a relationship, if they’re not being intimate, it drives them a bit crazy. (Earth signs and water signs generally like physical closeness, but Scorpio is unique in this aspect.)

Give them some affection, send them flirty messages, maybe even some daring photos, and let them know you’re interested in being close all the time. They really appreciate that.

Scorpios are quite likely to be intimate on a first date. They’re also open to a “friends with benefits” situation. As long as they’re getting some action, everything is good.

4. Scorpio is into some unconventional stuff.

If you want a guy to chase you down in the woods and get a little wild with a ski mask, Scorpio is totally up for it. Seriously, they’re all in.

And if you fancy a girl who’s up for a discreet encounter in a broom closet during a funeral, well, Scorpio is already in that closet – what’s taking you so long?

5. Scorpios are quite particular.

If you’ve ever been close to a Scorpio, you’ve seen how they operate.

I’ve helped out a Scorpio guy here and there, managing merchandise for my favorite band. I’ve done the job multiple times, know exactly where everything goes, and how it’s all supposed to be done.

Once, when he was running late, I set up the table before he got there. It looked just like every other time I did it, but when he showed up… he redid everything.

This is Scorpio’s way – they like things a certain way. They have a system, and to them, it’s flawless. Don’t mess with that system. Don’t pretend you know it as well as they do. Just step back and let them do their thing.

It’s the same with decision-making. A Scorpio wants to hear all the options, be able to ask questions, and then take their time to think it through. But don’t you dare try to make the decision for them.

Unlike Libra, if you try to push them around, you’re in for trouble. Scorpio can make their own decisions, and once they do, it’s their way or the highway.

Are they opinionated? Absolutely. But don’t lose hope. If you give them some space, absorb what you can, and show that you’ll respect their preferences, they’ll love you for it.

The relief and comfort they feel, knowing that not only were they heard but accepted – that their opinion was acknowledged and respected? You’ll see the payoff. They’ll make sure you know how much they appreciate it.

6. Scorpios are big fans of food.

Imagine this: you’re at a restaurant with friends, and one person in the group bombards the waitress with questions like, “Is the salmon wild-caught? Did you use butter to cook it? Are the veggies in the salad GMO-free? Any gluten in the salad dressing?”

Sure, others can be picky eaters, too. But the real Scorpio move is if the answers don’t meet their standards, they won’t eat a bite. Scorpios are the ones most likely to go vegan, vegetarian, or adopt a specific diet like gluten-free or dairy-free. They are seriously choosy about what they eat.

But here’s the twist: Scorpios absolutely love the whole eating experience. All water signs share a passion for food (watch a water sign devour something tasty – they either dance or moan, no joke), but Scorpios take it up a notch. They’ll drop $200 on a meal from their favorite chef, and they can’t fathom why you wouldn’t.

To win a Scorpio over, be a good cook. Whip up something delicious for them. Food is Scorpio’s second-biggest weakness – after, of course, their fascination with sex. Were you not paying attention?

7. Scorpios are a bit quirky and eccentric, and often quite funny.

These folks tend to have bold personalities, and they’re pretty upfront about it. Even the shy ones, once you break through, are full of life. They might start off a bit reserved, but once they warm up to you, get ready for some off-color jokes, even to your grandma.

Their feelings are easy to read. If they like something, or if they don’t, they just say it. It just comes out. Stubborn, lively, food-loving enthusiasts with a penchant for sex – they might joke about wearing your skin if you cross them, but it’s all in good fun.

Astrology says Scorpios click best with other water signs (Cancer and Pisces) and earth signs (Virgo, Capricorn, and Taurus; although Taurus is their opposite).
