Ingredients:
- 1 lb medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
- 1 lb spaghetti noodles (adjust quantity as needed)
- 6-8 garlic cloves, minced (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup butter
- Olive oil (3 drizzles)
- Italian seasoning, to taste
- Fresh ground pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh herbs, to taste (such as parsley or basil)
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
- Boil the pasta in salted water until tender. Optionally, add a drizzle of olive oil and some fresh herbs to the water. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set it aside.
Prepare the Shrimp:
- While the pasta is boiling, rinse and pat the shrimp dry.
Cook the Shrimp:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until they start to turn pink and begin to curl, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the Garlic:
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the shrimp. Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes, adding the olive oil as the shrimp finishes cooking. Stir until the shrimp are fully pink and curled.
Combine Pasta and Shrimp:
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp. Add Italian seasoning, ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to taste.
Add Pasta Water:
- Gradually add the reserved pasta water to the skillet, starting with 1/4 cup and adding more as needed until the pasta is coated but not too wet. Toss everything in the skillet until evenly combined and heated through.
